Hi, I’ve enjoyed GW2 here for quite some time. I have to say, I really think this game is on the right track, and, in my opinion, is the best non-subscription MMO on the market[arguably the best MMO period, esp as far as graphics are concerned.
I only want to suggest adding two new features to calm anger + divisiveness between gamers + feminists, and to avoid any legal issues and unnecessary censorship:
- Expanding the ignore/block feature – This is a no-brainer. Most people laughed the whole ” Twitter PTSD ” issue right out of the park because there are no limits on how many people you can block on Twitter or FB. Plus, it just makes sense to give every user the ability to decide who they do + do not want to associate with. The overwhelming majority of people don’t even pay to use Twitter + FB. It just makes common sense to give people paying for access to a massively-multiplayer[social] game [even if its upfront and not monthly] the same privacy + account control capabilities they would have on the average social network.
- Making the undergarments toggle-able like the “mature language” filter, and adding more family control options – This one may make it tough on some salty-mouthed teens, but it would also be in line with how the majority of social network sites handle these issues. It would put the power of censorship in the hands of each user, and allow people who want to have topless equality in their media, or just want to buy gw2 gold in the game.
Again, I would readily condemn any action forcing these two suggestions on any person or company. I just feel that these are two very common sense + individual freedom-oriented ideas that could work very well in any massively-multiplayer game, that were worth sharing with other players + the game devs
